MAENDELEO POLICY FORUM 3: Preparedness for 2017 General Election.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kenya and the African Policy Institute (API) have the pleasure to invite you to Third Maendeleo Policy Forum on the theme of “Preparedness for 2017 General Election: Do we have all the answers” on Wednesday 26 July 2017 from 14h30 – 16h00 at the Intercontinental hotel in Nairobi. We hereby invite you to attend the forum and to participate in the discussion which will come after a panel discussion.
The Maendeleo Policy Forum was launched in 2015 by the UNDP Regional Service for Africa in Addis Ababa, as one of the Organization’s contributions to the search for workable solutions to new and persistent problems of developmental transformation and effectiveness in Africa. It is created to provide space for African leaders, international mediators and negotiators, researchers, policy makers, development practitioners and writers on African issues, to debate on critical issues of development in Africa. The Forum has so far successfully convened five dialogues on topical governance and peacebuilding issues on the African continent. This is the second time the Forum is being held in Kenya; the first one was held on 16 December 2016 and was co-sponsored and convened by the UNDP Regional Service Centre.
As Kenyans prepare for the general election on August 08 2017, there is need to reflect on the state of preparedness of key institutions including IEBC, media, security agencies, the judiciary and political parties
