API President Dr. Kagwanja to lead the YES Secretariat

Kenya`s Prime Minister Raila Odinga launched the joint Yes secretariat
to back campaigns for the Proposed Constitution.
The joint secretariat, which brings together the two arms of the Grand
Coalition Government - the Party of National Unity and the Orange
Democratic Movement (ODM)- will be led by Dr. Peter Kagwanja and
Ms Janet Ongera representing the two wings respectively.
The
political wing of the Yes campaign will be led by Cabinet ministers
Kiraitu Murungi and Anyang Nyong`o.
The two heads are expected to develop the YES Campaign program, which will include structures from the national to the grassroots level. Political oversight and
co-ordination will lead the secretariat while political co-ordination
will be provided by Cabinet ministers Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o and Kiraitu
Murungi.
Kenya`s Proposed Constitution will be subjected to a referendum on
August 4 where, to pass, it must garner 50 per cent plus one vote of all
those cast and a minimum of 25 per cent approval in five of
the eight provinces.
