Since Kenya`s return to pluralist politics in 1992, all evidence suggests the country is loosing the war on corruption.If the trend continues, Kenya will not realise its Vision 2030 of becoming a middle-income and industrial country. to reverse the trend,the country needs to institute far-reaching reforms of the constitution to nurture institutions and norms of accountability. It also requires building strong anti-corruption institutions with the necessary power to prosecute perpetrators of corruption and to revitalise civil society and citizen lobbies to spearhead the war on graft.
This report is an attempt by the African Policy Institute to examine the impact of the crisis of democratic transition on the struggle to control corruption.

Kenya is in the grip of the politics of climate change together with the struggle for land natural resources which are a fundamental root cause of conflict in Africa. The current Africa Policy Report: Fighting for the Mau Forests, draws attention to land and climate change as vectors in the politics of Kibaki succession.
The report fittingly draws inspiration from a growing discourse on the connection between climate change and competition for natural resources within the context identity conflict. It is researched and written against the backdrop of the 2008 post election violence that killed over 1000 Kenyans and displaced 600,000 others, and the unfolding battle for the soul of the Kenyan in the run up to the crucial 2012 general elections.
The report provides a new platform for further debate on how to deal with intricable underlying causes of conflict.
